An important tool for our mission

Calls for proposals are one of our most important tools for enabling projects and they are carried out by our funding agencies – the Swedish Energy Agency, Formas and Vinnova.

Strategic project – closes October 31

Impact Innovation: Digital product passports – Swedish Metals & Minerals

This call seeks proposals for a strategic initiative to prepare for and facilitate the effective introduction of Digital Product Passports across the Swedish metals and minerals value chain.

Who can apply?

Consortia with at least 10 project partners. The consortium should include at least two steel companies, one mining company, one aluminum company or foundry, one end-user, one SME and one research institute or academic research organization.

How much can you apply for? 

One project will be financed within the strategic initiative. Maximum funding is SEK 10 million. Vinnova’s funding may amount to a maximum of 50% of the project’s total eligible costs.

Upcoming Call for Proposals – opens mid-October

Impact Innovation – Swedish Metals & Minerals: Sustainable Transition in the Metal and Mineral Industry – Digitalization, Circularity, and Climate Neutrality

With this call, we aim to support research and development activities that contribute to our mission within the following thematic areas:

  1. Resource-efficient and circular production processes
  2. Fossil-free and climate-neutral processes
  3. Advanced digitalization and AI

Who can apply?

Research organizations, companies, public sector, and non-governmental organizations.

Funding available in the call: Approximately SEK 90 million.

The call is planned to open in mid-October and close in the beginning of February 2026.
