An important tool for our mission

Calls for proposals are one of our most important tools for enabling projects and they are carried out by our funding agencies – the Swedish Energy Agency, Formas and Vinnova.

Apply for funding

Two calls focusing on the program's action area Social Innovation, opened on January 30 and closes April 30. The funding agencies together with the program intend to open more calls by spring 2025. Stay tuned!

Impact Innovation: The interaction between society and industry - Swedish Metals & Minerals

Explore how communities can become more inclusive, attractive and optimistic in our industrial regions – to support the metals and minerals industry’s long-term skills supply and competitiveness.

What can you apply for?
Research and development projects in areas where the metal, mining and mineral industries conduct or plan activities. The projects will contribute to Swedish Metals & Minerals´ mission by promoting a sustainable and prosperous social climate.

Who can apply?
Consortia with at least three parties, of which at least one is a civil society organization and one is an industrial actor. Other parties may come from, for example, the public sector, business or research. Project parties must be legal entities.

How much can you apply for?
Maximum funding is SEK 3,500,000 per project, where Vinnova´s funding may amount to a maximum of 80 % of the total eligible cost.

Impact Innovation: The interaction between humans and technology - Swedish Metals & Minerals

Explore how the interplay between people, technology and organizations can support effective, inclusive, and sustainable adoption of new processes and/or methods in metals and minerals production.

What can you apply for?
Industrial research or experimental development projects contributing to Swedish Metals & Minerals´ mission by investigating and developing the interaction between humans and technology or between humans, technology and organization.

Who can apply?
Consortia with at least three parties, where at least one is a Swedish company. Other project parties may come from, for example, the public sector, business, academia, the institute sector or civil society. Project parties must be legal entities.

How much can you apply for?
Maximum funding is SEK 3,500,000 per project, where Vinnova´s funding may amount to a maximum of 70 % of the total eligible cost.
