Program Conference 2026

6–7 October 2026 | Elite Hotel Marina Tower, Stockholm

On 6–7 October, around 230 participants from industry, academia, research institutes and the public sector gathered for the first Swedish Metals & Minerals Program Conference.

Over two days, the focus was on industry needs, future research priorities and new collaborations. With 98 ongoing research and innovation projects and a programme spanning the entire metals and minerals value chain, the conference provided a meeting place for knowledge exchange, discussions and new connections.

Two days – from mission to practice

Day 1 | Mission, industry needs and future priorities

The first day focused on the programme’s mission and direction, industry challenges and the conditions needed to enable a sustainable and resilient supply of metals and minerals.

Through presentations and panel discussions, perspectives from industry, research and society came together. The day concluded with networking and a conference dinner.

Day 2 | Project Arena – research and new collaborations

The second day was dedicated to the Swedish Metals & Minerals project portfolio. Through short project pitches and an interactive Project Arena, participants explored ongoing research and innovation across eight thematic areas – from exploration and mining to materials development, circularity, working environments and skills development.

The Project Arena offered opportunities to meet project teams, discuss shared challenges and explore potential collaborations.
