A workshop to strengthen cooperation between the culture sector, business community and the public sector
How can we work together to create a more attractive and sustainable society? Research shows that culture plays a key role when people decide where they want to live. At the workshop Minikulturkraft 2025 in LKAB’s ‘Black Box’ in Luleå, actors from the culture sector, business community and the public sector met to generate new ideas, create collaborations and work on projects that can solve the societal challenges of the future. The workshop was held on the theme: Social innovation with culture at its core
Luleå February 13 and 19, 2025 – The interest was so great that it was necessary to expand to run the workshop for two days. There was a particular focus on the calls within Swedish Metals & Minerals via Vinnova and other programs that support social innovation. The aim of the day was also to strengthen the collaboration between the cultural sector and universities by building new networks between them. The room, LKAB’s ‘Black Box’ was packed and the team behind the event felt that there were very interesting discussions and new ideas that could lead to something concrete in the future.
Behind Minikulturkraft was Luleå and Boden Municipalities in collaboration with LKAB, LTU Business and Luleå Science Park.
“Innovation is often something the culture sector already does – but you call it creativity or new thinking. So, by seeing culture as innovation, new opportunities for changing societies are opened. For example, through our new call in Swedish Metals & Minerals for projects that promote attractive, prosperous and inclusive communities in places where the metal and mineral industry is or can become important” – Lars Teglund, Communications Manager, Swedish Metals & Minerals.
