Strengthening Networks Across the Metals and Minerals Ecosystem at Svemin’s Autumn Summit 2025

Reflections from Svemin’s Autumn Summit 2025

Svemin’s Autumn Summit 2025 brought together stakeholders from across the metals and minerals ecosystem for a day marked by insights, dialogue and forward-looking perspectives. Industry representatives, policymakers, researchers and leading public voices contributed viewpoints that collectively highlighted both opportunities and challenges for the sector.

Broad Perspectives Throughout the Day

Discussions covered a wide range of topics, including Sweden’s competitiveness and resilience, the need for more efficient permitting processes, the role of the EU, and how media and public perception influence the sector. Together, these conversations illustrated the strategic importance of metals and minerals, as well as the societal dimensions surrounding development in mining and industrial regions.

Swedish Metals & Minerals on Site

Swedish Metals & Minerals was present in the exhibition area, meeting participants and sharing information about our ongoing open call, Impact Innovation – Digitalization, Circularity, and Climate Neutrality within the Metals and Minerals Industry. The call, run in close collaboration with the Swedish Energy Agency, is open until 3 February 2026.

Networking as a Central Element

A defining feature of this year’s Autumn Summit was the value of in-person exchange. Breaks and informal sessions were well used for conversations, enabling participants to establish new connections and strengthen existing relationships. For us — as for many others — these interactions play a crucial role in driving collaboration and development across the ecosystem.

Moving Forward Together

The day offered valuable insights and perspectives for the continued work within the Swedish metals and minerals landscape. We look forward to continuing our work to enable a sustainable and resilient supply of metals and minerals for the societal transition.
