The 40 over 40 list: recognising women shaping the mining and steel industries

For the fifth time, the 40 over 40 list is being released — a list recognising highly skilled and experienced women in the mining and steel industries. The initiative aims to spotlight the competence and leadership that are essential to the sectors’ continued development.
The initiative is led by Jernkontoret, Svemin and Industriarbetsgivarna. Today, women make up around 23% of the workforce in the mining and steel industries, and the list is part of broader efforts to support a more inclusive and attractive industry that makes use of all available competence.
On 5 March, Årets Fe 2026 (“Fe” of the Year) will be announced, with one of the candidates from the 40 over 40 list selected for the award.
