Twelve years of progress – and now a wider horizon
News

With the final summit of Swedish Mining Innovation behind us, Swedish Metals & Minerals is taking over with a broader scope and a long-term mission to boost sustainability, competitiveness and resilience across the sector.
Good ideas need good places to grow – that’s where collaboration turns into action. And that’s exactly what Swedish Metals & Minerals is here to enable.
During Swedish Mining Research and Innovation Days, several signals stood out:
📌 Shared direction matters – the value is clear of a common roadmap, where industry, academia, SMEs and public actors align around long-term goals. That spirit of openness and coordination is key going forward.
📌 Deep tech – Automation, seismic risk management and advanced monitoring are key to safe, efficient access at greater depths.
📌 Societal innovation – Reducing reindeer-truck collisions, mapping out inclusive work environments and building cross-sector trust are central to success.
📌 Space mining – Though it may sound distant, it showed how existing deep-mining technologies are already paving the way for more ambitious applications.
And to wrap it up: Swedish Metals & Minerals will build on these insights and bring in more perspectives, new collaborations and practical solutions.
Looking forward to what’s next – and to continuing the journey with both new and familiar faces!
