Surface modification of Ni-based superalloys for high temperature applications (SuNHigh)

Important results from the project

The goals of the project was to study the feasibility of an aluminizing coating process by comparing 3 different techniques. The goals of comparing the results and highlighting the limitation and potential of each process were met.

Expected long term effects

The long term impact of this feasibility study is the verification of the compatibility between the substrate material and the aluminizing coating. Moreover critical aspects and potential of the different treatment technologies were highlighted.

Approach and implementation

The preparation of the different coatings took longer than foreseen and therefore the project required a short prolongation. All planned activites could be performed.
