Collaboration and policy instruments for a sustainable mining and metals industry according to CRMA
Purpose and goal
The project aims to analyze, develop and implement instruments and policies that promotes collaboration and streamlines the permit processes. Special consideration is given to the new requirements under the CRMA. The goal is to improve cooperation between municipalities, mining companies and other actors in order to facilitate sustainable mining establishments. Through new policies shall permit processes become faster and more predictable, while environmental protection is strengthened.
Expected effects and result
At the end of the project, concrete proposals for new or improved instruments and policies that make permitting processes for mining projects more transparent, efficient and sustainable have been developed. The project should also have strengthened the municipalities´ capacity to participate in these processes in a more informed and equal way, as well as improved cooperation between municipalities, mining companies, authorities, Sami villages and other relevant actors.
