Project dress code – for a more attractive industry 2.0 (PKAI2.0)
Purpose and goal
The project has two main objectives; Objective 1: To develop modernized production-ready workwear and protective equipment featuring updated design and enhanced functionality.
Objective 2: To investigate and summarize the younger generation´s expectations and aspirations regarding working life and lifestyle in relation to the steel and metal industry
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to deliver new workwear and protective equipment, as well as a research report with recommendations for the industry´s external communication. By combining material an immaterial outputs, the project ensures both short- and long-term benefits. It integrates technological development, social innovation, and principles of equality to strengthen the industry´s sustainability, attractiveness and resilience.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is divided into two work packages; WP1 – Development of workwear. WP2 – Compilation of young people´s expectations and related communication recommendations. WP1 is conducted as an iterative process in which at two companies test the clothing in real work environments to assess functionality and identify needed adjustments. WP2 is conducted through a review of the relevant research field, followed by quantitative and qualitative field studies, including semi-structured in-depth interviews.
