Mapping and development of regulations and instruments for the Swedish heat treatment industry (VärmeBeStyr)
Purpose and goal
In the project, we want to map and develop the regulations and control instruments that currently and in the future affect the Swedish heat treatment industry, with the goal of reducing emissions. We want to investigate the decision-making paths for regulations and policy instruments, how these decisions can be influenced and their consequences for the industry´s competitiveness. In the project, we produce a report that will be available to the industry via the Heat Treatment Center (VBC).
Expected effects and results
The project is expected to be able to provide an overview of which regulations and instruments are relevant for the heat treatment industry, and to what extent they can be affected. With knowledge and transparency about these conditions, companies can better adapt and position their activities in the ongoing climate transition. Increased consensus from companies also enables greater potential for influence in the instances where decisions about regulations and policy instruments are made.
Planned approach and implementation
Three work packages guide the work: AP1: Mapping the current situation in 2024 Based on data from authority reports and letters, we want to answer questions such as e.g. which regulations and instruments affect companies, and what the decision-making paths? AP2: Needs and impact development From AP1, what needs does the industry have, which decisions can be influenced? AP3: Project management and dissemination of results Based on AP1-2, reporting and presentation to stakeholders.
