Strategic competence supply (SVAK)

Important results from the project

The SVAK model is scalable and spreadable: the model and process have been tested, further developed and documented SVAK is easy to implement with little coordinating central effort Train the trainer makes the model quickly scalable, with few resources at low cost Anchoring takes time with municipalities Need for problem insight among municipalities that skills supply is a business issue (not just a “school issue”) Complex to explain. Important to reach the right decision-makers from the start

Expected long term effects

SVAK creates a dialogue space between education, administration and business and increases understanding of the business needs. Leads to commitment and concrete collaboration, facilitates the development of new education. Enables municipal coordination and strategic planning of educational offerings. Stronger local attractiveness. The companies have direct dialogue with the municipality´s decision-makers on skills issues, which strengthens the companies´ skills supply in the long term.

Approach and implementation

The main objective was to ensure that the SVAK model is adaptable, spreadable and scalable, which was achieved. The project has delivered all deliverables defined and kept to the schedule. Collaboration between industry and municipality has worked excellently. To get municipalities interested, you need to reach the right decision-makers from the beginning (municipal director to municipal director) and reach people who have a systems mindset and a long-term holistic perspective.
