Social resilience and strategic competence development for sustainable social responsibility in the metal and mineral industry (SORESS-MMI)

Purpose and goal

Purpose: Strengthen social sustainability in northern Sweden by creating attractive, inclusive and resilient communities that can meet future competence needs. The project fosters long-term social sustainability and collaboration between the mining industry, public actors and civil society.

Goals: – Strengthen competence supply – Increase place attractiveness – Test and refine models and build long-term collaboration structures.

Expected effects and result

Expected results: A scalable model that integrates talent attraction and retention with place attractiveness. New quadruple-helix collaboration forms that strengthen inclusion, local participation, social innovation and the relationship between industry and the community. Effects: Serve as national and international reference models for sustainable transition. Help regions develop and reinforce community trust and place attractiveness in industrial transformations.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is designed to be practical and easy to integrate into the work of the actors who will use its results. It consists of five work packages with clear activities, milestones and deliverables: WP1 – Project management and coordination WP2 – Stakeholder engagement and needs analysis WP3 – Method and model development WP4 – Pilot actions and test environments WP5 – Implementation support and dissemination
